Guardian For An Angel

Do you believe in your Guardian Angel?
I do. And I feel our Guardian Angels have lots of work in our today's busy World taking as good care about us as they can.
But who will look after them? There should be somebody to give every support to our Caretakers. Somebody to teach them, understand and even prevent from some decisions.
Guardian. Guardian for an Angel.

Wishful

Sometimes it happens that Art works live their own life despite the fact that Artist brought Art work to live. This is what happened with this Art work for me, it was developing on it's own, and it was quite fun to see how it was evolving all the way I was creating it. Enjoy :) Truly yours, Yuliya

Resolution of this fragments are 2 times smaller then original Art work, but they can give an idea of the detail level.

Aloo Gobi

If you knew me a few years before you would hardly believe that person like me can have passion for cooking. You would even claim with confidence that such thing is completely impossible. It is truly beyond the question that all the things in the world are relative! :) I am in love with cooking now! Can't help it! Cannot resist any kitchen shop on my way, cannot resist trying new recipes and all the time inventing my own recipes and testing all "what ifs" in merging different tastes and ingredients! I opened for myself unknown magic - C o o k i n g. And! It is inspiring me even in My Art! Happy to introduce to you first interaction of Cooking and Art. Aloo Gobi. It is very simple delicious and spicy dish from Indian cuisine, one of the chosen favorites in my house since I made it first time. Enjoy and Bon Appétit! :)

Ingredients:

    * 2 cups of cauliflower (cut into small florets)
    * 2 medium potatoes (cubed into bite sized pieces)
    * 1/2 inch shredded ginger
    * 2 teaspoons coriander powder
    * 1/4 teaspoon turmeric
    * 1/4 teaspoon red chilly powder
    * 3 tablespoons water
    * 3 tablespoons oil
    * Pinch of Asafetida (Hing)
    * 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
    * 2 green chilies, shredded
    * 2 bay leaves
    * 0.5 teaspoon salt (to taste)
    * 1 teaspoon amchoor (mango powder)
    * 2 tablespoons of chopped cilantro (green coriander)
    * 1/4 cup water as needed

Method

In a small bowl, mix the shredded ginger, coriander powder, red chilly powder, turmeric, and 3 tablespoons of water to make a paste. Making a paste with the spices will prevent the spices from burning.

Heat 3 tablespoons of oil in a pan. Add hing and cumin seeds to the hot oil. When you hear the cumin seeds crack, add the bay leaves and green chilies and stir for a few seconds.

Next, add the paste and stir for a minute. Then add cauliflower, potatoes, 2 tablespoons of water and salt. Mix well. Cover the pan and let it cook on medium heat for about 25 to 30 minutes until the vegetables are tender. Make sure to stir gently every 3 to 4 minutes. Lastly, add the mango powder and fresh cilantro (green coriander). Mix everything and cover for a minute. Adjust the salt to your taste.

Variations

Add some green peas and/or sliced red bell peppers. The red bell peppers should be added at the end of the recipe as they cook quickly.

R.R.R.

About year ago I was leading very interesting full life and was drawing all the time to capture my impressions. One moment touched me very closely and I started to do this work. I almost finished it in one go. One thing what was left was tree. I was trying a lot of variations but even one was not right for my idea... During this year sometimes I was coming back to my R.R.R. work and trying more and more to catch this fleeing tree, but it was elusive! Finally, I got such a strong feeling that, yes, I know how it should look! Yes, I am ready to do it! And I sat and spend all the time I had without taking breath and created the tree with all my confidence. So now it is done. I am happy and satisfied and I can show my work to you. All opinions are welcome; I will appreciate any comments or critiques. Enjoy) Truly yours, Yuliya.

High resolution fragments here are twice smaller then original, in spite of this level of details in this work can be seen.

Workshop and Awards ceremony in Los Angeles, CA

I found out about the L. Ron Hubbard Illustrators of the Future Contest from my very good friends. This was my first participation in L. Ron Hubbard Illustrators of the Future Contest and it was really big surprise for me to win :) I never was thinking about being an illustrator that is why I am so happy to see that my first try is so successful!I am from Ukraine, from capital city Kiev. I am professional Artist; I have honors masters degree in Fine Arts. My Art starts from my parents. They have been encouraged my painting since I was a small child. They gave me a good education and thanks to them I became an Artist. Nobody ever inspired me. I have been doing my paintings since I remember myself. It is like hunger – if I am stopping painting for some time, I am starting to miss it very much! I can't imagine myself not drawing something. Painting for me is the way to express myself, share my feelings and find new good friends; and I got to experience this at the amazing week I attended workshop and awards ceremony in Los Angeles, CA. I met a lot of talented people; I have learned many new and useful things about Art and Attitude. I received invaluable professional advices from our wise instructors. It was a great honor to have such talented artists as Ron and Val Lindahn, Steven Hickman, Judith Miller as our instructors in workshop! I saw great team, wonderful people who are helping to young talented Artists from all over the world to build successful future and to show Art to the World! I feel I am very lucky that I got a chance to meet this people in my life! Evening of Awards Ceremony was on 24th of August and I was extremely proud to receive my Award on the eve of Ukraine’s Independence Day. Winning in the Contest means for me first of all that the way I am going is right. I was always dreaming to have as a profession doing my personal Art and now I am more then ever close to my dream. This week will stay in my memory for whole my life as an unforgettable experience and happy moment of my life! Thanks to this amazing week I have been charged and now feel like working even harder than before! I would like to say huge thank you to all Contest team! Guys, you are doing great job! )

Tutankhamun

I did this work for L. Ron Hubbard Illustrators of the Future Contest. It was printed in L. Ron Hubbard Presents Writers of the Future Volume 23. This is my first try in doing illustrations. It was interesting experience for me to implement somebody’s idea in life, to understand this story as if it is my own thoughts and feelings. In my illustration according to given story I have shown that how King Tutankhamun is used as a doll without paying attention that he is alive and has his own feelings and wishes. Character above him is collective image of all the qualities of typical modern man today influenced by money, lust for power and using other people for own profit. In short I am showing the whole tragic situation of a King from the past struggling in future. While doing my artwork I was thinking of illustrating whole story without choosing some particular scene because I was impressed with the complete idea. Hope this try was successful. ) As usually, I appreciate any comments and critiques. ))

Chasing

Hi there!

This work had been frozen for 3 months and finally and luckily my Time let me finished this work. This is voyage. I thougth about colours and shapes doing this work. This one of my favorite parts in painting, like meccano. Meccano is helping to keep your mind blank. Similar filings I am having doing work like this. I've been to other country, my inner world had been changed during this months. I dedicate it to spring, which came at our place not so long time ago (it’s very beautiful and warm outdoors, my soul is happy at this :) and also to my friends Sergey and Sasha Kharuk, who are The Great Artists, thanks to them I started to do body not as “fresh” as I did before in my works :) I used a lot of photo peaces, Photoshop CS and Wacom Graphire4. Enjoy :)

Ensnaring

Regards to everybody!
This is “Ensnaring”. Name was born from the idea “to ensnare the fortune”. My creature didn't have lamp tail before, but it wanted to eat, and was have to grow up that tail. I am totally convinced that everybody has “devices” to realize any of their dreams. If u are in need of some personal quality or got lost in span of time u CAN catch the fortune, you just have to realize that everything is in your hands. I changed a lot of things in that way, and can tell you truly – it wasn't easy! But I am very proud of myself since I've did it. And that feeling is like narcotic for me now :). Hope my idea will help somebody with realization of secret dream :).
I was very inspired during whole work process and did this work without taking a breath. Any candid critique good or bad will be appreciated. Yours truly, Yuliya.

Scientist

This is collective image of people who is interested in creating something new. What will happen with butterfly? This interest moves the development of whole world, I am sure! There is laziness of course, which is also engine of progress :) but the real hero of my story is exactly interest! Enjoy :)
